I’m good. I like quilts and poetry. I like taking pictures. I’m giving. I collect buddhas. I’m sweet. I love hugs. I am special. I need to be loved. Be gentle. Treat me with care.

Unbelievable. How did this happen?? This man has brought this country so close to collapse. I watch this video, and I’m almost speechless. We’ve all grown so numb to it, but watching this…it’s shocking again.
Don’t believe that Bush is dumb. He’s dumb like a fox. If you believe he’s just a bungling idiot, it’s hard to hold him responsible or accountable. The things that man and his administration managed to pull of politically fall just short of genius, if you count the way he subdued the general public. You could almost call him malicious, if you could be made to believe he actually even remotely cared about this country, not just his and his friends wealth and welfare.
The man is pure evil!

beautiful song...
Blood Bank (Bon Iver)
Well I met you at the blood bank
We were looking at the bags
Wondering if any of the colors
Matched any of the names we knew on the tags
You said see look it that's yours
Stacked on top with your brothers
See how they resemble one anothers?
Even in their plastic little covers
And I said I know it well
That secret that you know
That you don't know how to tell
it fucks with your honor
And it teases your head
But you know that its good girl
Cause its running you with red.
Then the snow started falling
We were stuck out in your car
You were rubbing both my hands
Chewing on a candy bar
you said ain't this just like the present
To be showing up like this
There's a moon waning crescent
we started to kiss
And I said I know it well
That secret that we know
That we don't know how to tell
I'm in love with your honor
I'm in love with your cheeks
what's that noise up the stairs baby
Is that Christmas morning
And I know it well

found an old poem
I’d forgotten about…
4016
is red delicious.
Oh George, he could not tell
a lie, but it appears he did:
4016 hit the ground rolling.
That’s like me saying
how you do like them cherries?

Today was an atrocious day, so I’m gonna do something I’ve been meaning to do and make a gratitude list.
- Barack Obama got elected. That was a truly inspiring moment in history, and I got to see and be a part of that.
- I came a long way in ‘08. I came through a lot of hard times and learned a lot. I grew as a person.
- I found a wonderful soul to love and share my life with 7 months ago. I could not be luckier or want more. I wake up every day with the overwhelming desire to smother his face in kisses.
- That the universe blessed me and I found a job and an apartment across the street from it at the same time.
- I lost around 30# in ‘08. Jeez, I am thankful!
- My mom, and my sister. They rock the house, the mic, the party and yo face!
- Bacon. I am grateful for bacon. Mmmmm, bacon.
- And sugar free red bull.
- I’m grateful for hope. I’m becoming more and more inspired and getting my life back to where it should be.
I have hopes and dreams for this year.
- To get back on top of my life, which is very foreseeable. I see myself in a car in a few months and back in college by fall, or spring at the latest.
- To get back on top of my health, and do all those obligatory “resolutions” this year for riz: quit smoking, learn to eat better, enjoy exercising, and lose that last 20#. Also, more yoga, regular facials, mani/pedis, vitamins, the lot.
- To indulge in inspiration and creativity and to give myself the freedom to experiment, play, create, learn, grow as an artist, and be joyously and obsessively prolific.
- This includes being a pack rat with wreckless abandon!
- To daydream beautifully about trips abroad, learning to surf, playing an instrument and dancing Flamenco.
- Develop a routine that is productive, saving recipes, keeping morgue files, organizing, streamlining, and taking possession of my life again.
- Learning what the serenity prayer means and letting go of the need for control, relaxing, and letting life unfold gorgeously, messily, and mysteriously.
- Embellish life at every opportunity with good smelling things, fun accessories, bright toenail polish, and candlelight.

the worst sounds...?
According to this article:
1. Vomiting
2. Microphone feedback
3. Wailing babies
4. Train scraping on tracks
5. Squeaky seesaw
6. Poorly played violin
7. Whoopee cushion
8. Argument in a soap opera
9. Mains hum
10. Tasmanian devil
Whoopie cushion? Really? Tasmanian devil? My equivalent would be a peacock. Horrible!
They are all awful sounds, especially the first four. I would add to the list…
- pop music and christmas music
- a New Hampshire or Canadian accent
- loud eating sounds, lip smacking
- snoring
- coughing and nose blowing, which are very common these days
- that knocking sound the dryer makes
- the sound of my roommate laughing
- Geddy Lee’s voice, Fran Drescher’s voice
- anyone talking in a loud, self important way on a cell phone
- traffic
- car alarms OMFG
There are so many more that I can’t think of right now!
